A friendly Squirrel...

We were at the park this morning, and this little guy insisted on having
his picture taken. He was a very cooperative subject and stood
completely still until I was done.

Oh Christmas Tree...

We got our christmas tree this weekend. A very fun family day. The
weather was perfect, cold but sunny. I wasn't much help picking the
tree but the family picked a good one, probably one of the nicest
we've had. A new tradition, I think. Then, it was off to Starbuck's
to warm up.

Hydrangeas...

I've been having some fun with Hydrangeas lately, and trying
some new editing techniques. I'm pretty excited about the
results. Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers, and these
white ones are incredible.

Mountain Ash...

We planted this Mountain Ash tree in our yard, hoping to attract Cedar
Waxwings. Cedar Waxwings are one of my favorite songbirds. This
particular Mountain Ash has pink berries, instead of the usual orange
berries, which I thought would be very pretty. Birds don't seem to be very
attracted, though. Robins don't even eat them. A flock of Cedar Waxwings
stopped by one fall, but I haven't seen any in our yard since then.
It is a beautiful tree though, especially in the fall.

A Truffula Tree...

An interesting little weed from a rainy Thnaksgiving weekend. It reminds
me of a truffula tree from Dr. Seuss' The Lorax.

Beach Collections...

My sister has an amazing collection of beach treasures. While visiting
this summer, when the weather was bad, I spent my time taking photos of
some of the things she has collected.  It was a great way to spend a rainy day.

Raindrop Sparkles...

The raindrops were hanging on so tightly to the trees this morning, I
couldn't pass them up. The drops of water add beautiful sparkle.

Still More Fall Leaves...

After last nights storm, I was surprised to find some leaves still hanging
on. This is a cherry tree in our backyard. I've been having some fun
trying different processing techniques. I like how this turned out.

Weekend Fun...

We had a great weekend, enjoying the warmth of the sun. We visited a
beautiful garden and I can't pass up anything bird related. There were
several ornaments throughout the garden, but this was my favorite.

More Fall Leaves...

The fall leaves are so beautiful right now. Add some rain drops and
they're amazing. I love the delicate texture of the Japanese Maples.

Sunflowers...

We had friends over for dinner the other night, and they brought a
beautiful bouquet of sunflowers. We had a wonderful visit with our friends,
and I had fun taking photos of sunflowers after they left.

A Bounty of Tomatoes...

We have a bounty of tomatoes in our garden this year. Apparently deer
and rabbits don't care for tomatoes.

Fall Decorating...

Found this fun little pumpkin at the grocery store and couldn't resist
doing some fall decorating. I love the stem.

Whatcom County...

I have lived in Whatcom County for almost 20 years now, and I am
always surprised at how little of it I have seen. I can go for drives and still
find many roads I haven't been down, with wonderful photo
opportunities. I'm lucky to live in such a beautiful place.

Rainy Days and Mondays...

Rainy days won't get me down. I'll just go out and take photos of raindrops.

Salmonberry Jelly...

One of the joys of summer in Sand Point, is picking Salmonberries. The
berries are huge and grow both red and orange. We picked enough to make
some jelly to bring home, and will be reminded of our trip all winter. I think
Katie's Salmonberry could have won the contest for the largest berry.

A Fall Leaf...

Although I'm not looking forward to gray, rainy days and cold weather, I am an
Autumn girl at heart. It is my favorite season. My house is decorated with every
color found in this leaf. I love the idea of curling up on the couch with a cup of
tea, a good book and a big pot of soup on the stove for dinner. If we had a
fireplace, there would be a fire as well.

Fun with a Dahlia...

I don't grow beautiful Dahlias in my garden, but I'm lucky enough to have
neighbors who do. And, they are generous enough to share them.

Enjoying the Sunlight...

I'm appreciating the warmth of the sun more these days, as I feel
winter is approaching.

Barns...

Another one of my favorite subjects to photograph are barns. Whether part
of a working farm or completely falling down and unusable, they have
so much character.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month...

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Just a little pink
in support of the cause. Time to schedule a mammogram.

Fall love...

Love can be found in unusual places, if we keep our hearts open.

Weeds can be beautiful too...

This seemed like a good use for a dandelion, ready to share it's seeds
with our garden. Now, maybe I'll have less to pull next year.

More from Alaska...

We had such a great time visiting my sister this summer. It was
wonderful to share this unique and beautiful place of my
childhood with my daughters. My sister and her family were
all so generous with their time and made sure we had a good time.
Thank you. I love you guys!

Butterfly Bush...

I see why Butterflies are attracted to these flowers. They are beautiful and smell wonderful.

Weekend in the Palouse...

What a beautiful part of the state, rolling hills of wheat that go as far as
the eye can see. These are a few of my favorite images.

Purple Coneflower...

Found this in a neighbors yard while walking Lily this morning.

Welcome Fall...

I'm not ready for the cold yet. Hoping for an Indian Summer.
